Gym Machine Replacement Grips

Worn foam or loose handle sleeves? Choose a replacement by the size of the metal handle—not just how the grip looks. Send a photo and the basic measurements to ask about a matching option.

Measure the bare handle

Grip bore needs to match the shaft it covers.

Check the full grip length

Leave the machine’s end stops and fittings clear.

Confirm the end style

Open sleeves and closed-end grips are different parts.

The component

A good fit starts inside.

A gym handle foam grip may look like a simple tube, but the inner opening and length decide whether it suits your machine. A loose sleeve can turn on the bar; a wrong end style can block a fitting.

  • Inner boreThe opening that slips over the handle shaft.
  • Usable lengthThe full section your hand needs to cover.
  • Grip feelSoft foam or a firmer textured rubber surface.
  • EndsOpen at both ends, or capped on one end if the assembly calls for it.

Don’t choose by
photo alone.

On a lat pulldown bar, cable handle or home multi-gym, small differences in the grip opening can matter. Use the old grip and the bare handle as references.

01

Measure the handle diameter

Check the metal tube after the old sleeve is removed, if safe to do so. Do not guess from the outside of the worn grip.

02

Measure the grip length

Include the full sleeve length. Note any grip stops, end caps or nearby fittings that limit space.

03

Check the material and ends

Send photos of the foam or rubber surface and whether both ends are open or one end is closed.

04

Identify your machine

Share its brand, model, attachment type or any part code if available. Fit must be confirmed before ordering.

What a photo can show

Texture, end shape, visible wear and the style of handle. A photograph cannot confirm the true inner diameter by itself—send a measurement too.

Which grip style
should you ask for?

A comparison of common part families—not a list of currently stocked items. The right choice depends on your handle and its original design.

Grip familyTypical feelWhat to confirm

Not all grips are universal. Do not assume a handle attachment, stationary-bike handlebar or machine lever uses the same size.

Replacement sleeves may be needed on lat bars, seated-row handles, press handles and other fixed grips. The use case helps identify the part, but the machine name alone does not prove compatibility.

Look for splits, peeling foam, a sleeve that spins on its shaft, or missing end caps. Stop using a loose or damaged handle until it has been checked.

Practical questions

Before you
order.

Can you match a grip using only a photo?

A photo helps identify the style and wear, but not the exact inner opening. Share the bare bar diameter and grip length too, plus the machine model if available.

Are foam grips and rubber grips interchangeable?

Not always. They can feel different, and their inside size, length and end design may differ. Match the original machine requirements rather than choosing by material alone.

Should I replace both left and right grips?

Check both. If their condition or fit differs, ask about a matched pair. Do not keep using a grip that turns, cracks or slips on the handle.

Can Gym Servicing BD confirm fitting and delivery?

Ask with your model, location, dimensions and photos. Fitting, availability, delivery and return terms need specific confirmation before an order.
