Look beyond the cylinder
A treadmill roller carries the running belt. The assembly may include a bearing, shaft, end fixing and—on many front rollers—a drive pulley.
One roller may have a smooth metal tube. Another may have a black coating or a pulley at one end. The visible difference is useful, but it is not enough to prove fit.
If you have the original part number, include it. Otherwise, photos of both ends are a good starting point for checking a replacement.
Identify the position
The place a roller sits often tells you what to ask for. Both types still require model-specific matching.
Typically sits nearer the motor. Many designs use a pulley for the motor drive belt. Pulley profile, axle ends and mounting style are key details.
Usually supports belt tension and tracking at the rear of the deck. Its shaft, ends and adjustment hardware must suit that treadmill.
Part-matching checklist
Use the machine’s manual or an original part number where possible. Ask a technician to confirm any measurements that require opening the deck or removing a roller.
Safety first: Switch off and unplug the machine before any inspection. Do not remove a roller, loosen a tensioned belt or run a treadmill with loose or damaged parts unless qualified to do so.
